New Hyundai Venue and Maruti Escudo: Two highly anticipated SUVs are set to make their way to Indian showrooms in the coming months. Maruti Suzuki will introduce the all-new Escudo on September 3, 2025, while Hyundai will roll out the next-generation Venue on October 24, 2025. Both (New Hyundai Venue and Maruti Escudo) models aim to strengthen their brands in the competitive SUV space, offering new features, updated technology, and a choice of multiple powertrains.

The Escudo will be Maruti’s new midsize SUV, positioned against the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. It will be sold exclusively through the brand’s NEXA premium outlets and built on Suzuki’s Global C platform, which also underpins the Brezza and Grand Vitara.

Engine options will include a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol (102 bhp), a CNG variant (88 bhp), and a 1.5-litre petrol-electric hybrid (116 bhp) with an expected mileage of up to 27.97 kmpl. Transmission choices will range from a 5-speed manual to a 6-speed torque converter automatic, with the possibility of AWD on select trims.

The Escudo is expected to come with a long list of features such as a panoramic sunroof, a powered tailgate, Dolby Atmos audio, ventilated seats, a larger touchscreen infotainment system, digital driver’s display, and Level 2 ADAS with functions like adaptive cruise control and lane assist.

Hyundai’s popular sub-4m SUV is set to get a complete generation upgrade. The 2025 Venue will retain its boxy proportions but adopt styling cues inspired by the Alcazar. Most of the changes will be seen inside, where it is likely to feature dual 12.3-inch displays, a new steering wheel, panoramic sunroof, ventilated front and rear seats, and advanced connectivity features.

Safety will be a major highlight, with 6 airbags as standard, a 360-degree camera, electronic stability control, hill launch assist, and Level 2 ADAS.

The engine lineup will continue to offer the 1.2-litre petrol, 1.0-litre turbo petrol, and 1.5-litre diesel options, with manual, iMT, and automatic gearboxes. A factory-fitted CNG variant could also be part of the range.

The Maruti Escudo is estimated to be priced between ₹10.5 lakh and ₹18 lakh, while the new Venue is expected to fall in the ₹8 lakh to ₹14.5 lakh range (ex-showroom). With fresh designs and feature-rich cabins, both SUVs will look to make a strong impression in their respective segments.
