Tata Sierra EV Launching in October 2025 – ICE Version to Follow in Early 2026

The iconic Tata Sierra is making a comeback in a brand-new avatar. Tata Motors has confirmed that the Tata Sierra EV will debut around 20th October 2025, while the ICE version is planned for early 2026. Positioned in the midsize SUV space, the Sierra will compete with established rivals like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Maruti Grand Vitara.

Tata Sierra EV Design and Exterior

The new Tata Sierra will carry forward its classic silhouette with a modern twist. The EV will get a closed-off grille and aerodynamic bumpers for better efficiency, while the ICE model will feature a functional grille with air dams for cooling. Both versions are expected to have a rugged stance with sharp LED lighting, cladding around the body, and a panoramic sunroof on higher trims. Spy shots of the ICE entry-level variant suggest cost-effective elements like steel wheels, halogen lamps, and unpainted cladding, aimed at budget buyers.

Inside, Tata is aiming to make the Sierra one of its most premium SUVs. The EV is likely to get a dual-screen setup combining a digital driver display and a large infotainment system. The ICE version, on the other hand, may feature a triple-screen dashboard similar to the Curvv and Harrier.

In terms of features, both models will offer ventilated and powered front seats, wireless charging, dual-zone climate control, a powered tailgate, and connected car technology. Safety will be enhanced with Level-2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera, six airbags, ESC, and hill-hold assist.

Engine Options and Range

The Tata Sierra EV will be built on the brand’s new Acti.ev+ platform. It is expected to come with two battery pack options – 65kWh and 75kWh – offering a range of 450–500 km on a single charge. Buyers will also get the option of rear-wheel drive and an all-wheel-drive dual-motor setup.

The Tata Sierra ICE will feature multiple engine choices: a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine for the base trims, a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol (170hp, 280Nm), and a 2.0-litre turbo-diesel (170hp, 350Nm) borrowed from the Harrier and Safari. A smaller 1.5-litre diesel option for lower trims is also under consideration. Mileage figures are expected to be competitive, with petrol variants offering around 14–16 km/l and diesel variants close to 18–20 km/l.

The Tata Sierra EV launch is set for October 2025, with prices likely starting from ₹22–25 lakh (ex-showroom). The ICE version, coming in early 2026, could start around ₹14 lakh for the base petrol variant and go up to ₹22 lakh for the top diesel and turbo-petrol trims.

With its mix of retro-inspired design, advanced features, and multiple powertrain options, the Tata Sierra is shaping up to be one of Tata’s most exciting launches in recent years.
