Top 5 Upcoming Electric SUVs in India 2025
Mahindra XEV 7e
Mahindra is preparing its first three-row electric SUV, the XEV 7e, which is based on the XUV.e8 concept showcased earlier. Positioned as a family-oriented electric SUV, it will share several design cues with the popular XUV700.
Inside, the XEV 7e is expected to feature triple digital screens, a panoramic sunroof, and a premium interior layout. Mahindra will likely equip it with Level 2 ADAS, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and fast-charging support. The battery pack could be similar to the upcoming BE 6 and XEV 9e models.
Launch is anticipated within the next six months, making it one of the most awaited electric SUVs in the premium segment.
Mahindra XUV 3XO EV
Mahindra will also bring an electric version of the recently launched XUV 3XO. Positioned below the XUV400, this EV will cater to budget-conscious buyers looking for a compact electric SUV.
The XUV 3XO EV has been spotted on test several times and is expected to share its powertrain and battery options with the XUV400, which means multiple range options could be on offer. Expect features like a large touchscreen, digital instrument cluster, connected tech, and advanced safety features.

VinFast VF6 & VF7
Vietnamese carmaker VinFast is gearing up to enter the Indian market with two new models – the VF6 and VF7. Both SUVs are expected to be officially launched around the festive season, and the company has already started assembling them at its Tamil Nadu facility via the CKD route.
The VF6 is a compact electric SUV, while the VF7 sits slightly higher in the brand’s lineup. Both models are expected to offer a driving range of up to 480 km (WLTP), making them competitive against current players like the Hyundai Kona Electric and MG ZS EV.
Feature highlights include a modern infotainment system, connected car technology, and ADAS safety features. Bookings for the VF6 and VF7 are already open online and through dealerships.
Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara
India’s largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki, is entering the EV market with the e-Vitara. The electric SUV will be produced at the brand’s Gujarat facility and will be sold in both domestic and global markets.
The e-Vitara is expected to be available in Delta, Zeta, and Alpha trims, offering two battery options – a 61.1 kWh pack with over 500 km of range and a 48.8 kWh pack for buyers who prefer affordability over maximum range.
On the features front, the e-Vitara will likely include Level 2 ADAS, a large touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ventilated front seats, a 360-degree camera, and wireless charging.
Price and Availability
While exact pricing details are yet to be revealed, the Upcoming Electric SUVs will likely cover a broad price range starting from ₹12 lakh for the compact SUVs like the XUV 3XO EV and going up to ₹35-40 lakh for the larger models such as the XEV 7e.
