Yamaha FZ-X Hybrid Launched in India With Smart Tech & TFT Display

Yamaha has officially launched the new Yamaha FZ-X Hybrid in India at an ex-showroom price of ₹1.49 lakh. This marks a significant upgrade for the brand’s popular neo-retro commuter, now equipped with smart hybrid technology and a new full-digital TFT instrument cluster.

The biggest addition is Yamaha’s hybrid system, featuring a Smart Motor Generator (SMG). This motor-assist setup offers a mild torque boost during acceleration and helps improve fuel efficiency. The hybrid tech also brings a silent start system and engine start-stop functionality, especially useful in traffic to save fuel.

New Tech for the Modern Rider

Another notable update is the all-new TFT screen, replacing the older negative LCD unit. This new screen not only looks more premium but also adds Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation. Riders can now connect their phones via Yamaha’s Y-Connect app to get real-time call/SMS alerts and trip info.

Mechanically, the bike continues with the 149cc air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that makes 12.4 PS and 13.3 Nm of torque, paired to a 5-speed gearbox. The hybrid assist adds a slight push during initial acceleration, making city rides smoother and more responsive.

Yamaha FZ-X Hybrid Pricing & Variants

The standard Yamaha FZ-X Hybrid is still available at ₹1.30 lakh, while the new Hybrid version is priced at ₹1.49 lakh (ex-showroom). Yamaha is also offering a new Matte Titan colour exclusive to the hybrid model. Bookings are already open at dealerships across India.
