Honda was the first to introduce a strong hybrid sedan in India with the City e:HEV, and the next-generation model is already in development. Expected in late 2027, the new-gen City Hybrid will be based on a new PF2 platform for better efficiency and space.
The design will see a complete overhaul with a sleeker profile, refreshed LED lighting, and a more premium cabin. Features like an advanced infotainment system, ADAS, and improved connectivity are expected.
Under the hood, the new City Hybrid will continue with the 1.5-litre petrol engine paired with two electric motors. It will remain a self-charging strong hybrid, delivering fuel efficiency of around 25-27 km/l. Prices could range between ₹15-20 lakh.

Expected in early 2027, the SUV will offer a spacious cabin, advanced safety features, and multiple seating configurations. Since it will use a self-charging hybrid system, there will be no need for external charging. Pricing is expected to start at ₹22 lakh, going up to ₹30 lakh for the top trims.
3. Honda Elevate EV

Honda has officially confirmed that its first electric car for India will be based on the Elevate SUV. The Honda Elevate EV will be produced locally at the brand’s Tapukara plant in Rajasthan, with launch expected in the first half of 2026.
In terms of design, the EV will likely feature a closed grille, revised bumpers, and unique alloy wheels to differentiate it from the petrol-powered Elevate. Inside, expect a familiar layout but with EV-specific displays and connected tech features.
Technical details are yet to be revealed, but we can expect a range of over 400 km on a single charge to compete with rivals like the Hyundai Creta EV, Tata Curvv EV, and Maruti e-Vitara. Pricing is likely to start around ₹20-25 lakh (ex-showroom).
