BMW is set to unveil the next-generation New BMW iX3 electric SUV on September 5, 2025, marking the debut of its all-new Neue Klasse EV platform. The new iX3 will be the first in a series of electric vehicles built on the company’s dedicated Gen6 architecture, designed to deliver better range, faster charging, and improved efficiency.

New BMW iX3 Design and Exterior Updates

The upcoming New BMW iX3 draws heavy inspiration from the Vision Neue Klasse X concept showcased earlier. Expect a closed-off front grille, illuminated kidney design, and sleek LED daytime running lights. Flush door handles, smooth body panels, and a slightly larger footprint compared to the outgoing model will give it a cleaner, more modern look. At the rear, slim horizontal tail-lamps provide a sharp, minimalist finish, similar to BMW’s flagship iX SUV.
New BMW iX3 Battery, Range, and Charging
Unlike the current iX3, which is based on the CLAR platform, the new model rides on a dedicated EV-only Gen6 architecture. BMW claims that the batteries in the Neue Klasse lineup will be 20% more energy-dense and will support 800V fast-charging technology. This means owners can expect a 350km range boost in just 10 minutes of charging.

In terms of overall range, test mules have hinted at figures close to 900km (CLTC) and around 800km (WLTP) on a full charge, which would put it ahead of many rivals like the Audi Q6 e-tron and Mercedes GLC EV.

New BMW iX3 Interior and Features
While BMW has yet to share full details, the iX3 is expected to come with a next-gen iDrive system, featuring a large curved display, advanced connectivity, and the latest driver-assist tech. Sustainability will be a key theme inside, with recycled materials and vegan upholstery likely to feature across variants.

New BMW iX3 Price and Rivals
The new BMW iX3 will compete in the premium mid-size EV SUV space against models such as the Audi Q6 e-tron and the upcoming Mercedes-Benz GLC EV. Prices will be announced closer to launch, but expect a slight premium over the current-gen iX3 due to the advanced tech and improved range.
BMW’s move to launch the iX3 as the first Neue Klasse model signals a major step toward its all-electric future, offering buyers an EV that blends luxury, performance, and cutting-edge technology.
