The Hyundai Creta is one of the best-selling midsize SUVs in India, and now there’s good news for those planning to buy one. If the government goes ahead with the proposed GST reform this festive season, car prices could drop significantly. Reports suggest that GST on cars might be reduced from 28% to 18%, which could make popular models like the Creta more affordable.

Hyundai Creta Design and Features
The current Hyundai Creta sports a bold design with a large grille, LED headlamps, and a distinctive split lighting setup. It offers a premium cabin with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, connected car tech, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, and a 7-inch digital driver display. Safety is well covered too, with features like six airbags, ABS, ESC, and advanced driver-assistance functions in higher trims.
Engine Options and Mileage
Under the hood, the Creta comes with multiple powertrain options. There’s a 1.5-litre petrol engine (115 PS), a 1.5-litre diesel (116 PS), and a 1.4-litre turbo-petrol (140 PS). Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual, iMT, CVT, and 7-speed DCT depending on the variant. Mileage figures are impressive for its class, with the petrol returning around 16-17 kmpl and the diesel delivering up to 21 kmpl.

Hyundai Creta Expected Price Drop
Currently, the Hyundai Creta is priced between ₹11 lakh and ₹20 lakh (ex-showroom). If the GST cut is implemented, buyers could save anywhere between ₹30,000 and ₹40,000, depending on the variant. Add to that festive discounts and exchange offers, and the Creta could become an even better value proposition this Diwali.
