Mercedes-Benz India has expanded its performance line-up with the launch of the new Mercedes AMG CLE 53 Coupe at ₹1.35 crore (ex-showroom). Positioned above the CLE 300 Cabriolet, this sportier AMG variant comes with a ₹20 lakh premium and becomes the tenth AMG model in the brand’s India portfolio.

Mercedes AMG CLE 53 Coupe Design and Styling
The CLE 53 Coupe combines the sleek silhouette of a two-door coupe with the aggressive touches typical of an AMG. The wide stance, sculpted bonnet, and bold AMG grille give it a distinct road presence. The coupe also gets sportier bumpers, wider wheel arches, and quad exhaust tips, underlining its performance intent.
Inside, the cabin layout is familiar to the CLE 300 but with AMG-specific upgrades. The standout feature is the AMG performance steering wheel, wrapped in Alcantara with red contrast stitching, and fitted with additional touch controls. The 11.9-inch portrait-oriented infotainment screen and 12.3-inch digital driver’s display dominate the dashboard. Other highlights include 64-colour ambient lighting, a Burmester sound system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless charger, and powered seats with memory.

Mercedes AMG CLE 53 Coupe Engine and Performance
Under the bonnet is a 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged straight-six engine paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system. The Mercedes AMG CLE 53 Coupe produces 449hp and 560Nm of torque, with an extra 40Nm available via Overboost. Power is sent to all four wheels through AMG’s 4Matic+ all-wheel-drive system and a 9-speed torque converter gearbox.
This setup enables the coupe to sprint from 0-100kph in a claimed 4.2 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to 250kph, which can be increased to 270kph with the optional AMG Performance Package.
Market Position and Rivals
The CLE 53 AMG’s closest rival in terms of performance is the BMW M2, which offers 460hp and 550Nm. However, the BMW is priced significantly lower at ₹1.03 crore, making the AMG a more premium choice in this segment.
