MG Motor India posted its strongest monthly performance of 2025 in August, registering 6,578 units sold. This marks a significant 52% year-on-year growth over the 4,323 units recorded in August 2024. The impressive numbers were driven largely by the popularity of the MG Windsor EV, India’s best-selling electric vehicle, which notched up its highest-ever monthly sales, recording a 5% increase over July 2025.

Windsor EV Performance and Features
The MG Windsor EV continues to set benchmarks in the electric SUV segment. It is powered by a 136 PS electric motor producing 200 Nm of torque, paired with a 52.9 kWh battery that delivers an ARAI-certified range of 449 km on a single charge. The crossover is offered in both Essence Pro and Exclusive Pro trims, with features including Level 2 ADAS, Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capabilities, making it one of the most technology-packed EVs in India.
The interior is designed for comfort, with reclining lounge-style seats, automatic climate control, adjustable headrests, and a 15.6-inch touchscreen supporting wireless smartphone connectivity, navigation, and vehicle settings. MG offers the Windsor under a Battery-as-a-Service plan starting at ₹9.99 lakh, with usage charges of ₹3.9 per kilometre. Buyers opting for the Pro trims can expect a cost of ₹13.09 lakh under the BaaS scheme, or ₹18.09 lakh ex-showroom for outright purchase.

MG Motor India Market Expansion and Network Growth
The strong sales performance coincides with MG Motor India expanding its presence across India. In August, the company opened three new dealerships, bringing its network to over 543 sales and service outlets across 270 cities, covering more than 90% of the country. Service centres are strategically located within a 15 km radius to ensure most customers can access assistance in under 30 minutes.
Since its launch, the MG Windsor has sold over 40,000 units, maintaining the position of India’s highest-selling passenger EV for eleven consecutive months. Entry-level models like the MG Comet also recorded their best month of 2025, posting a 21% gain over July.
