New Gen Kia Seltos: Kia is readying the next generation of its popular Seltos SUV, which has been spotted testing in India and overseas multiple times. The current Seltos has been a strong global seller for the brand, and the upcoming model is expected to build on that success with a bigger footprint, new features, and a hybrid powertrain for the first time in India.

New Gen Kia Seltos Launch Timeline
The New Gen Kia Seltos India launch is expected in the first quarter of 2026, with the hybrid variant arriving later in the year. While the hybrid’s global debut was earlier scheduled for January 2026, recent reports suggest a possible delay, pushing production to April 2026. Pricing will be crucial, as Kia is weighing the impact of introducing a higher-priced hybrid in a price-sensitive segment.
Bigger, More Spacious Design
TheNew Gen Kia Seltos will grow by around 100mm over the current model, taking its length close to 4.5 metres. This increase should translate into more second-row legroom and larger boot space. The design will adopt a more boxy profile compared to the current rounded look, giving it a more SUV-like stance.
Kia is also testing two front-end designs – one for the standard model and another for the sportier X-Line variant. The X-Line could get a more aggressive bumper design with unique air dams, while the standard model is likely to feature a cleaner, more understated look.

Premium Features
The upcoming Seltos is expected to borrow high-end tech from the Kia Syros compact SUV. Highlights could include a 30-inch Trinity display integrating the infotainment and driver’s display, front and rear ventilated seats, and sliding/reclining rear seats for added comfort.
New Gen Kia Seltos Engine Options
For international markets, the hybrid variant will pair a 1.6-litre petrol engine with an electric motor and may offer e-AWD. The India-spec hybrid is likely to use a 1.5-litre petrol engine with a series-parallel hybrid system, where the engine and electric motor work together to drive the wheels.
The regular ICE range is expected to continue with the current 1.5-litre petrol, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol, and 1.5-litre diesel engines. Gearbox choices should include a 6-speed manual, CVT, 7-speed DCT, and a 6-speed torque converter for diesel.
With more space, fresh styling, advanced features, and a hybrid option, the 2026 New Gen Kia Seltos aims to stay among the top contenders in India’s midsize SUV market.
