Upcoming Sub-4-Meter SUVs in India
1. Kia – Syros & Next-Gen Sonet

Kia’s Syros EV is expected to debut in late 2025 or early 2026. The EV will feature new aerodynamic alloy wheels, updated bumpers, and EV-specific interior touches. While battery and mileage details remain under wraps, the car is likely to deliver a range of around 400 km per charge.
The next-generation Kia Sonet is also in development, with a likely launch in 2027. Expect a refreshed exterior, upgraded interiors, and new tech features, continuing Kia’s trend of combining compact SUV practicality with modern styling. There are reports of a possible Sonet EV as well, though details are not confirmed yet.
2. Mahindra – Vision S & Vision X

Mahindra showcased the Vision S and Vision X concepts, both under 4 meters in length. The Vision S is expected to launch around 2027 under the Scorpio nameplate, offering petrol and diesel engines with front-wheel-drive as standard and optional all-wheel drive.
The Vision X could either replace or sit alongside the XUV3OO as a premium offering. Both ICE and EV versions are expected, with front-wheel drive standard and AWD available. Design cues suggest a bold, modern exterior with tech-rich interiors, keeping Mahindra’s compact SUV appeal intact.

3. Hyundai – New-Gen Venue, Bayon & Inster EV

Hyundai is preparing to launch the second-generation Venue in India, expected around October 2025. The new Venue will feature a refreshed design with sharper lines, modern LED lighting, and a sleeker grille. Inside, the cabin will get a major upgrade with a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree parking camera, and Level 2 ADAS, making it safer and more tech-friendly. Engine options will include the familiar 1.2-litre petrol, 1.0-litre turbo GDi petrol, and 1.5-litre diesel units. Mileage is likely to remain similar to the current generation, with petrol variants delivering around 17–18 km/l and the diesel close to 21 km/l. The expected price is anticipated between ₹8.5 lakh and ₹13 lakh, depending on the variant.
Alongside the Venue, Hyundai is planning to launch the Bayon compact SUV in 2026. The Bayon will likely feature a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine, along with the 1.0-litre turbo GDi option, paired with a 6-speed manual or 7-speed DCT automatic transmission. By the end of 2026, Hyundai could also introduce a compact electric SUV, internally called the Inster EV, expected to rival the Tata Punch EV. It could come with 42 kWh and 49 kWh battery options, offering a claimed range of up to 355 km.
4. Tata Motors – Next-Gen Nexon

Tata is preparing the next-generation Nexon, internally codenamed ‘Garud.’ The new Nexon will continue on the X1 platform with structural improvements and a completely refreshed design, keeping pace with Tata’s latest SUVs. Interiors will see a major upgrade, featuring improved infotainment, safety tech, and comfort features. Engine options will include petrol, diesel, and CNG variants, with mileage likely similar to current models – around 16–17 km/l for petrol and 21 km/l for diesel. Price expectations range from ₹9 lakh to ₹16 lakh.
