Ather Energy has announced that the Ather Rizta Z electric scooter will soon receive a major OTA (over-the-air) update. The update will unlock full touchscreen functionality, a new Eco mode, and a refreshed user interface. This announcement was made during the 2025 Ather Community Day, where the company also showcased the EL01 concept, the Redux concept, and revealed new features for its flagship 450 Apex.

What’s New in the OTA Update?
Existing Rizta Z owners will be able to enjoy this upgrade without any additional cost. Ather says the scooter already comes with advanced hardware, which makes it possible to enable touchscreen support through a software update. With this feature, navigating menus and settings will become more convenient for riders.

The update will also introduce a new Eco mode, allowing users to balance performance and range. Ather claims this will help riders extract more efficiency during city commutes. Additionally, the UI is getting a fresh design, making it more intuitive and visually appealing.
Ather Rizta Z Design and Colours
While there are no mechanical changes, Ather has added a new Terracotta Red colour option to the Rizta Z lineup. This gives buyers an additional choice apart from the existing shades, adding a stylish touch to the scooter’s modern design.

Performance and Specs

Mechanically, the Ather Rizta Z remains the same. The top-spec variant is powered by a 4.3kW electric motor paired with a 3.7kWh battery pack. This setup delivers strong city performance with a practical riding range suitable for daily commutes.

The Ather Rizta Z is currently priced at ₹1.30 lakh (ex-showroom). The OTA update is expected to roll out in the coming weeks, and it will be available for all existing Rizta Z customers.
With these updates, Ather is making the Rizta Z even more feature-rich and user-friendly, enhancing its position in the competitive electric scooter segment.
